Crazy Packed Metro Ride Home

Mobile Image: IMAGE_587.jpeg

Earlier this afternoon their was a broken train at Silver Spring causing all kinds of ugly delays in both directions. This was the scene at Metro Center forcing me to hop one station out of my way so I could get a seat. This must be a taste of things to come on inauguration day, which I will be skipping by working from home.

I-66 West was backed up a bit on our journey to Charlottesville. Kristina kept herself busy by doing crafts in the car. Right now we are at a Burger King somewhere near Warrenton for a pit stop. I have no idea how much farther we have to go.

Puck In The Window

Puck will be all by himself this Xmas eve as he watched us pack up the van. Kristina and I are headed to Charlottesville, Virginia, to spend Christmas at her grandmother’s place. Don’t worry the roommates will be back on Christmas to feed Puck a hearty cat dinner and we left plenty of food out. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

The show was exciting and the food was filling. Dinner included a tomato bisque, a slice of garlic bread, a whole roasted chicken, a rib, and a herb-bashed potato. The jousters weapons would sometime spark during combat and the sounds of metal on metal were clearly heard. Our yellow night was defeated early on but it was still fun cheering for him. Everyone had a great time and we even got two steins to take home with us.

The roomies and I are waiting to be called in for the show. Kristina and Jaime got magnificent steins as souvenirs. I like my cardboard crown. Apparently we’re rooting for the yellow knight.

All Night Chick-fil-a Party

Kristina and my friend Pammy decided to camp out at the new Chick-fil-a just off of route 29 on Johns Hopkins Road. Since it is a new store, the restruant chain hosts a campout where the first 100 people in line at 6am get 52 free meal coupons. They certainly picked a cold night to do it as the temperatures are bound to dip below freezing. There were lots of tents setup in the parking lot. One group of people even brought a gas generator which powered a projector and game system. Chick-fil-a would hand out free food to the uber-patrons and I visited at the right time for free nuggets. Hopefully everyone will make it through the night to claim their coupons. The line started forming at 11am Wednesday for the grand opening at 6am on Thursday morning. These people are anything but chicken.

Rocky Wants A Brownie

The high end cupcake shop, Baked & Wired, that I pass everyday on my way to work has these funny chalk drawings outside of their store. I found this one blog-worthy.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Kristina’s parents house along with my parents. Kristina’s mom cooked up a marvelous meal. Dishes included two turkeys, one roasted another smoked, spare ribs, pot roast, salmon cakes, two kinds of stuffing, two kinds of rice and green bean cassarole. Too follow all that food we had another table of desserts. A good time was had by all.
